To take this art idea a bit further, the child can also be taught to do more than simply paint a ladybug because they can also be taught how to cut and paint a similar ladybug in an altogether different

You can proceed further with using the letter “L” for different art ideas by also teaching the child to paint leaves because this is an easy task which can be especially fun to do in the springtime as well as during the fall months. Children can be asked to match different colored leaves as well as arrange them in different ways including even gluing different colored leaves to plates and even adding some berries to make the plates more decorative.
Another useful art idea is to ask the children to paint and create a different effect such as tie-die by dropping paint on coffee filters that have been cut in the shape of different leaves. You can give the child different colored paints and then ask the child to create their own design of leaves and to use eye droppers filled with paint to give expression to their ideas.
Since the coffee filters will readily absorb water, it allows for many enticing designs as well as color patterns to be created with just a few tiny drops of paint.
